Keep a useful record
The book repeatedly calls for research into the firearm and the specific parts under consideration. The book discusses the frequent use of mil-spec in commercial descriptions. Ask what actual specification or documented interface a claim refers to. Do not treat that phrase, a brand name, or a broad platform label as a complete compatibility or quality assessment.
Separate three kinds of evidence
A book can explain concepts. Current manufacturer documentation describes the particular product. A qualified inspection addresses the actual firearm's condition. A visual configuration is a planning aid and does not replace any of those sources.
Legal statements need a separate source
