Stocks, grips, and sling terminology
The language used for rear support, hand interfaces, and carrying equipment.
Different interfaces have different names
The book separates the buttstock, pistol grip, front grip, and trigger guard into different topics. A stock is the rear support interface; a pistol grip is the main hand interface; a front grip is a separate accessory; and the trigger guard surrounds the trigger area. These terms should remain distinct in a parts record.

The grip discussion mentions hand fit, surface finish, finger-groove preference, and general ergonomics. Those are individual considerations. A photograph or another owner's preference cannot establish comfort for a different person.
A sling and its attachment hardware
A sling is support and carrying equipment. Its attachment hardware is a separate component. The book's single-point chapter is one example, not a general conclusion that one arrangement is appropriate for everyone. Safe handling remains necessary regardless of support equipment.
Describe the actual component and the user's concern clearly when discussing comfort or support equipment.
